CARMENERE

TASTING NOTES

With a deep ruby-red color and bluish reflections, this wine
captivates with its intensity and aromatic complexity. Notes
of black fruits such as blackberries and blueberries unfold,
intertwined with dried plums and an elegant hint of nuts like
almonds. Its spicy character, with touches of black and white
pepper, adds dynamism and depth.
On the palate, it is broad and enveloping, filling the mouth
with a perfect balance between freshness and structure. VIK - MILLA CALA 2021

68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Carmenère, 7% Syrah, 5% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc.

TASTING NOTES

The 2021 season got underway with a perfect, cool spring.
Then, while the temperatures in summer were average, it
was very windy, which enabled us to ripen the tannins
without losing the fruitiness. The conditions lent acidity
and vibrancy to our wines.
Milla Cala reveals the most perfect, fine expression and
includes all the varieties in our terroir. The Cabernet
Sauvignon contributes structure, tension and character,
while the Merlot delivers a velvety mouthfeel with a silky
edge. The Carmenère brings consistent, enjoyable body,
while the acidity of the Cabernet Franc generates a
symphonic movement of the tannins that closes with the
smoothness of the Syrah.
On the nose, the red fruit of the Cabernet Sauvignon
and Merlot intermingle perfectly with the black fruit and
spice of the Carmenère, the mineral hint of the Cabernet
Franc and the blue floral notes of the Syrah.
Food pairing: Foie gras agnolotti, mature cheeses.

Serving temperature: 16º - 18ºC.

VIK - LA PIU BELLE 2024

ROSE

TASTING NOTES

A subtle copper color with glints of orange and golden
tones that elegantly combine to present a light brilliance
in the glass.
Elegant on the nose, the aromas are of fresh white
peach and just-ripe apricot, together with very intense
notes of fine white flowers and a subtle citrus hint that
mix together, with just a touch of orange, grapefruit,
and tropical fruit such as passionfruit and papaya. With
a trace of oak and the stirring of the lees, more complex
and surprising notes of nuts and brioche appear.
With very fine acidity that adds vigor and vibrancy
on the palate, and nice volume in the center that fills
the mid palate without weighing it down, while giving
a sensation of creaminess. Very juicy, on the palate it
delivers sensations of fresh ripe fruit like peach, apricot,
and a hint of orange that play nicely with the passionfruit,
embracing the papaya. The work with the lees and the
time in French oak add consistency and a long finish.
Food pairing: Toast with smoked salmon, Ricotta
cheese and olive oil. Poached lobster with beurre
blanc and steamed vegetables. Paella.

Serving temperature: 10ºC - 12ºC.

BARROIR: For the barrels, we diminished the foreign element by toasting used and new French staves with oak from our hills, and then building proprietary barrels in our cellar cooperage. These estate crafted barrels will impart the flavor of our terroir. Approaching all of our work holistically, we use only fallen trees. The oak in our 57-hectare grove is well over a hundred years old and the species is French.
